BRIEF HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT

The department of history launched its journey in 1986 as general subject in B.A group with H.E.P, H.P.T and H.P.E there is demand amongst students for opting history as main subject. There are at present 180 sanctioned seats in B.A group (H.E.P-60, H.T.P-60 and H.P.E-60). There is one full-time teacher in the department. The department has produced innumerable students throughout the year. Many students of the department have established themselves in various sectors, especially as accomplished constables, school teachers, Junior college lecturers and Degree college lecturers and keep in touch with the department as alumni. The student scoring highest marks in the history papers in the final examinations is awarded endowment cash price by the college.

Besides teaching the department organizes student’s seminar, debates, group discussions, quiz’s and prepare students for quiz competition at the district level, so that they can keep pace with the time. The student can express their views used independently. Students through their writing in the wall charts and teacher guide them properly in this regard. Above all, the faculty member is always ready to render all possible assistance and guidance two students within and outside the campus as and when required. Consequently students get through the final examination with flying colours every year and go for further higher studies to the universities.
