DEPARTMENT PROFILE

                 The Department of Chemistry is one of the coveted centers of learning Chemistry, equipped with an excellent infrastructure, started along with the establishment of the College in 1968 with 30 students . Initially only +2 students were admitted and was  later was upgraded to under graduation with introduction of UG courses in 1973 . In 2012 Post Graduation in Chemistry was introduced with Organic Chemistry as  Specialization. The Department of Chemistry has come a long way catering to the needs of the society besides making inroads into the field of research. Apart from convensional Black board teaching , the department uses ICT tools and co-curricular activities involving Students like – Student Seminars, Group Discussions, Quiz Programmes, Project Works, Field Trips, Guest Lectures  and offers Certificate Programme also.

• The Department has 8 teaching and 2 Non Teaching Staff catering to the needs of 182 under graduate and 20 post graduate students .
  
• The department to its credit has  Three Prathibha Awards by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh ( University Top Gold Medals :: 3 )
  
• Two Students qualified in CSIR – UGC – NET in last 5 years
  
• Four times our students got best ranks  ( 1,4,7,11 ranks) in PG Entrance examination conducted by affiliating College.
  
• 25 Research journals published by staff .
  
• Our Staff submitted 75 papers in various National and International seminars.
  
• 35 Extention Lectures were delivered by our staff in last 5 years .
  
• International webinar on 15/12/2020 by renowned scientists from Sweden, US, Germany.
  
• Further our staff has authored Books,  Acted as paper setters for Universities, Autonomous colleges and Engineering and Medical Entrance Examinations at State level and evaluators  for Universities papers.
