Student Centric Methods such as Experiential Learning, Participative Learning and Problem solving methodologies are used for enhancing learning experiences.
Response:
In the present day world of dynamic and ever changing external environment, the institution has been making all out efforts to utilise all the available resources, methods and infrastructure to ensure ultimate overall benefit to the stake holders in the teaching learning process.
At the beginning of the academic year, all the faculty members prepare the curriculum plans for a meaningful and need oriented teaching-learning activity.
In addition to various conventional methods of teaching, the institution together with innovative pedagogical methods of teaching, has been very actively adopting experiential learning, participatory learning and problem-solving methodologies for enriching and enhancing the learning objectives of the students.
Experiential Learning:
The institution assigns at most priority to the experiential learning of the students to promote and enrich their skill and knowledge. The hands-on experience is derived through study projects, field trips, study tours, industrial visits, assignments, seminar presentation, preparation of posters, participation in various competitions etc., are regular activities in the institution. The department of commerce regularly conducts industrial tours, field visits for the benefit of students. The department of Botany organises botanical tours to collect valuable information and samples of various plant species. Chemistry students are taken to the field visits, chemical labs to acquire experience and knowledge of various chemical equipments and testing, reporting. The department of microbiology in coordination with other departments conducts blood donation camps, health check up camps. The department of English encourages students to participate in National seminar and help the students in seminar presentation.
In the process, students get an opportunity to interact and share experiences with the experienced, resourceful members of the organization. Students also actively participate in various extension activities like blood donation camps, AIDS awareness programs, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers regularly extends services to local police authorities in traffic control, helps municipal authorities in clean and green and swatch Bharat programs and Plantation programs.
Participative Learning:
In order to promote participatory learning among the students, the institution encourages the students to participate in community service activities. This enhances real-time and need-based contribution of students towards current issues and challenges faced by the society. Students actively participate in various programs aimed at creating awareness among the public on current issues. Students from all classes and NCC cadets and NSS volunteers actively participate in swatch Bharat, clean and green, Vanam Manam, cashless transactions, AIDS awareness programs and enrolment of voters, traffic control, sanitation, Open Defecation Free (ODF) and consumer awareness programs and so on.
Problem Solving:
Students are involved in projects and assignments of real-time issues. This enables the students to think, analyse, interpret and evolve probable solutions on the basis of their theoretical knowledge and knowledge gained through laboratory experiments. Students are provided an opportunity to interact and share experiences with the experts, trainers and resource persons of various fields of knowledge. Students are trained in disaster management in coordination with the Red Cross Society of India.
Virtual classrooms, Digital classrooms and LMS:
The institution is in the fore front in effective utilisation of ICT resources, to enable fruitful and purposeful teaching and learning process. A well equipped two virtual classrooms and three digital classrooms established through RUSA funding are of immensely beneficial to the students in providing opportunity to watch and interact through video lessons lectures presented by various scholars, experts and senior faculty members from reputed institutions. All the students are provided the opportunity to listen to the state wide live telecast of video lessons through MANA TV (SAPNET) programs.
Online classes:
During the period of lockdown due to corona (covid-19) all the faculty members conducted online classes for the benefit of students. PPTs were prepared for effective teaching learning process. Study material on important topics also shared with the students. Faculty members were actively involved and available online for clarifications and guidance and addressing various academic issues. Online assignments were given to the students and performance monitored.
